People's Republic of China

China's nuclear weapons are missile delivered. There are different platforms
and ranges.

Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM)

  • DF-4; iquid fuel two stage silo ICBM, which has a singular 3 MT warhead
  • DF-4A; this is identical to the DF-4, but it is MIRV and has three warheads
  • DF-5; liquid fuel two stage silo ICBM, which has a singular 4-5 MT
    warhead
  • DF-5A; this is identical to the DF-5 but it is possibly MIRV
  • DF-31; road-mobile three stage solid fuel ICBM, which has a singular 1 MT warhead
  • D31A; this is identical to the DF-31 but it is MIRV and has three variable
    yield warheads and penetration aids

Intermediate / Medium Range Ballistic Missiles (IRBM/MRBM)

  • DF-3A; road-mobile, liquid-fuel, singular-stage, IRBM, which has a
    singular 3 MT warhead
  • DF-21; road mobile or silo launched, two-stage, solid-fuel, which has a
    singular 0.5 MT warhead
  • DF-21A; road mobile or silo launched, two-stage, solid-fuel, which has a
    singular 100 kT-class warhead

Short Range Ballistic Missiles (SRBM)

  • DF-11A; road mobile, singular stage, solid fuel, developed from the DF-11.
It is possible that it has a nuclear function
  • DF-15; road mobile, singular-stage, solid-fuel. It is possible that it has a
    nuclear function

Land Attack Cruise Missiles (LACM)

  • DH-10
    • possibly 100 kT nuclear payload
  • CJ-10
    • it was developed from the DH-10
    • possibly nuclear payload

Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBM)

  • JL-1
    • it was based on the DF-21
    • each Type 092 nuclear powered submarine has 12 missiles
    • each missile carries a singular 0.5 MT-class warhead
  • JL-2
    • two-stage
    • solid-liquid fuelled
    • possibly MIRV
    • it was based on the DF-31
    • each Type 094 nuclear powered submarine has 12 missiles
    • a singular MT-c;ass warhead or 4x 100kT-class warheads
